About Us

Our Story

Bikram Yoga San Clemente was built out of love.  Love for the yoga.  Love for the many benefits of yoga and how they affect your life.  The journey of a yogi is ever expanding.  We created a space for people to practice and go on to take their path and experience their journey.  Each person's journey is unique and we like to embrace that.  Welcome to our yoga family.  Our studio is made up of truly amazing  people, all of whom have dedicated their lives to spreading the message of mindfulness and health to our students.  We all share beliefs that life should be lived with joy, gratitude, and a dedication to being present in the moment. These feelings inform and guide our teachings, which are focused on helping our clients better connect to themselves, their communities, and to the rest of the world.

Bikram, Vinyasa, and Fusion Yoga Teacher

Hi my name is Misty LaChance.  I am from a small town in Washington State. I graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences in Economics and Spanish from San Diego State University. I've always had a major passion for helping people accomplish their fitness goals.  I became a certified personal trainer at 18 years of age. I have always loved fitness. I was on the high school dance team and involved in sports such as cross country. I also take a special current interest in paddle boarding, snowboarding, and swimming in the ocean. With my experience, I have embarked on my journey to full-heartedly extend to my yoga family at this studio my heart and soul along with my passion to teach yoga.

The passion came about after being an avid runner over the years.  The running, I noticed, had a negative effect on my knees.  Stretching helped, but eventually yoga seemed like the way to go.  I attended my first Bikram Yoga class in Laguna Beach in 2003. I loved it.  I found it to be difficult at first, but I had a spiritual, memorable experience. I went to yoga regularly in 2012.  I loved that the teachers were attentive to me and helped me improve my postures. My quiet moments allowed intuition to speak to me so I then decided I wanted to become a yoga instructor and went to training the following month. I graduated from Bikram College of India in spring 2012 and Core Power Yoga in spring 2015 and studied with Sumit Banerjee in 2016 to learn his method. I had no idea how much this yoga would change my life. I felt and feel better mentally, physically and overall stronger and happier than ever before. I became more open to loving people for who they are and fully loving myself for who I am. I loved teaching, knowing people were on their own path and loving it. I taught at Bikram Yoga Delray Beach, Bikram Yoga Long Beach, Bikram Yoga Laguna Beach and Headquarters in Los Angeles. This is a passion I love to share & I am very happy to be a part of this community!  Come talk to me anytime and look forward to seeing you in the hot room!

Florence Dawson

Bikram Yoga Teacher

I am a French native and moved to the U.S. in 1999.  In 2005, while on active duty in the Marine Corps, I took my first yoga class in 2005 in Old Town San Diego after a friend raved about the benefits of Bikram Yoga.  At the time, I had starting developing minor stretch fractures and yoga seemed like a good complementary workout.  Although I left the room three times during my first class, I came back for more.  Not only yoga soon became a ritual in my weekly workout regimen but over the years it grew into a beautiful way to honor and connect the mind, body, and spirit. Upon leaving the Marine Corps, I attended Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in 2010 in San Diego.  I loves teaching yoga for the opportunity to connect with incredible people, and help students heal their bodies through. I taught  Bikram yoga in San Diego, Washington D.C. and Fort Worth, Texas.  I work as a Project Manager for a Veterinary Cancer Group of clinics in Orange County and Los Angeles. I love to talk about yoga, bikinis, love the beach, camping, the great outdoors, my boyfriend and green juices!

I started my practice about 9 years ago.  I had no idea the ways my life would change after my first night in the hot room. I practiced off and on a few years, when things got tough, the hot room was always my first remedy. No matter how long you have been practicing, there is always something to learn in that room. I was able to clear my mind, and control my thoughts easier with a regular practice.

Steadily, I practiced more and more, until I was practicing every day. My life began to take many turns in all the right directions. Things started to fall into place. On top of that I felt so strong and healthy. I got sick less and craved more healthy things in my life. It became such a regular part of my routine.

The worldwide community still blows my mind. Its amazing how you can find it almost anywhere in the world. This yoga continues to inspire me and I look forward to spreading my passion into the community for years to come!

Hilary Meloan

Bikram Yoga Teacher

My name is Hilary and I was born and raised in San Diego, CA.  I took my first Bikram Yoga class in 2009, and immediately fell in love with the practice.  The consistency of the class and teachers, the heat, the sweat, and the progression that I was able to make in my body had me hooked.  I had overheard some teachers talking about how strenuous the training process was to become a certified teacher, and I was intrigued!  I'm always up for a good challenge, so after a year of solid practice and lots of doubles, I completed the training in Spring of 2010 in Las Vegas, NV.
Becoming a Bikram Yoga teacher has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had.  Being able to see the transformation that my students make from this amazing yoga is so wonderful.  This yoga will change your life, your mind, and your body.
I am so excited to be teaching in beautiful San Clemente with all of you!  I look forward to seeing you on your yoga mat.  Namaste

Bikram Yoga Teacher

As a teenager in Chelmsford, MA, I started practicing various forms of yoga for exercise. A few years later, I was introduced to Bikram Yoga as a stressed out college student, and my yoga practice evolved. The more I practiced the more I became aware of all the therapeutic aspects of the yoga like, decreased stress, a greater mind-body connection, improved concentration, etc. I began to practice not only for my physical health but also my mental health. I decided to become a certified teacher so I could share these incredible benefits with others, and I attended Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in Los Angeles in the spring of 2011. I have taught Bikram Yoga and have continued my education throughout New England and the San Francisco Bay Area. I currently teach in Orange County, where I live with my husband and our 2 fur babies. Can’t wait to see you in the hot room!
